아포테케리 (apothecary)는 현대 의학이 자리 잡기 전에 지역 의학을 담당했던 약제상을 의미합니다. 그 지역의 오랜 역사와 지식이 켜켜히 쌓인 것이 바로 오래된 약제상입니다. 아포테케리는 오랜 시간 동안 그 지역 사람들의 건강을 관리하는 역할을 하였습니다. 아유르베다 (ayurveda) 역시 어떤 의미의 아포테케리와 결이 같습니다. 저희 주변 사람의 건강을 책임지고 관리할 수 있는 곳이 되기를 희망하기에 베다라이프에서는 apoveda 라는 브랜드 네임을 제안합니다.

Apothecary refers to the pharmacist who was in charge of local medicine before modern medicine took its place. The long history and knowledge of the region is accumulated in an old pharmaceutical store. For a long time, Apothecary has been responsible for managing the health of the local people. Ayurveda is also the same as apothecary in some sense. We hope to be a place where we can take responsibility for and manage the health of people around us. Vedalife proposes the brand name apoveda.

아유르베다는 인도의 전통의학으로 일컫는 말입니다. 한국의 '한의학' 중국의 '중의학' 처럼 인도의 전통의학을 '아유르베다'라고 부릅니다. 아유르베다라는 단어는 <아유 + 베다> 라는 산스크리트 단어의 합성어 입니다.  아유(ayu)는 삶을 의미하고 베다(veda)는 지혜를 뜻합니다. 즉 아유르베다는 '삶의 지혜'를 의미합니다. 이름에서 처럼 아유르베다는 의학적인 부분만을 다루지 않습니다. 삶 전반에 걸쳐 보다 보다 지혜로운 삶을 사는 것이 아유르베다가 추구하는 바 입니다. 

Ayurveda refers to the traditional medicine of India. Traditional medicine in India is called'Ayurveda' like 'HAN-UI-HAG (korean traditional medicine) and 'JUNG-UI-HAG (chinese traditional medicine)'. The word Ayurveda is a compound word of the Sanskrit word . AYU means life and VEDA means wisdom. In other words, Ayurveda means 'THE WISDOM OF LIFE'. As the name suggests, Ayurveda isn't just about the medical part. It is Ayurveda's pursuit of a wiser life throughout life.
